GSCORE is dedicated to growing the capacity of the outdoor recreation workforce with an emphasis on innovation and best practice.
We do this by providing training and professional development to outdoor recreation business owners, tour guides, instructors, youth workers, among others. This includes the creation and delivery of self-paced learning modules and resources that can be applied in work-place settings.
We partner with universities, schools, and outdoor education providers, to develop curriculum modules for primary, secondary and tertiary students; and teacher training resources.

GSCORE provides a number of resources to Outdoor Activity Providers including access to our various Research initiatives.
Our research activities are focused on undertaking and publishing original research into issues of importance to the outdoor recreation industry not only in the Great Southern but in Australia and internationally.
The aim of our research program is to accelerate innovation and lead to successful commercialisation of new products and technologies.
GSCORE was established to promote the growth of the outdoor recreation industry. Our goal is to enhance professionalism and skills in outdoor recreation.
We do this by providing business mentoring and support to commercial businesses and community organisations working in the outdoor recreation industry. Through business forums, workshops, and information sessions, we encourage innovation and the adoption of best practice solutions by outdoor recreation businesses.
We also provide strategic planning and consultancy services to support the development of new outdoor recreation events, programs, products, and services.
We also assist with the marketing of the Great Southern as a destination for outdoor recreation activities and events by working in partnership with Destination Marketing Organisation, local tourism organisations, and visitor centres.
GSCORE’s policy and advocacy activities focus on working with government at all levels to ensure that the interests of the outdoor recreation industry in the Great Southern are represented in public decision-making processes.
By working to shape policy and practice in outdoor recreation and adventure tourism, we aim to develop original solutions and strategies that ensure Government policies address the needs of both end users and outdoor recreation providers.
